Track of the Day: Victor Ruiz - Black Hole

It is almost time for Thanksgiving here in southern California and it's still beach weather. Just one of the many things I am thankful for this year. Another thing I am thankful for is Victor Ruiz and his seemingly never ending supply of techno that he pumps out for all us regularly to enjoy. Among the growing number of incredible techno producers coming out of Sao Paulo Brazil he is a master of taking you on a journey within the span of one 6-8 minute track. Not a newcomer to the scene either. I know I have some productions of his that date back to 2012 and he has a massive catalog of originals and remixes that goes back further than that. His latest release is for Pig & Dan's Elevate Records. Consisting of 3 smashing tracks "Black Hole" was the one that stuck with me the most. The doubled up kick at the onset sets us off on our journey as the the main chorus gradually approaches softly muted. As the groove progresses the chorus slowly brightens up and adds some sharp stabbing notes energizing the main theme. I really like the way Ruiz plays with the swing of the groove throughout the track as well it creates a very interesting dynamic between the chorus and the groove. The final straw in the hat that does it for me is the booming kick that takes over filling my head with sweet, sweet, bass each time the track transitions from bridge to drop. Another outstanding release to add to the collection from Victor Ruiz. The other 2 tracks from the EP linked below for you to check out as well. Enjoy.
