Track of the Day: Pablo Bolivar – Back Door
This morning Pablo Bolivar released his ‘Back Door EP’ on the legendary Hanover-based label Peppermint Jams Records. The new EP is a big one for Bolivar. It features a couple of remixes from Ian Pooley. That alone is notable. But the new EP’s title track is something else. ‘Back Door’ is deep house down to its core. That pervasive synth chord that holds over the duration of the track sets the vibe and maintains it for seven full minutes. But my favorite part is that stuttering symbol in the background. The effect is subtle but it fosters a dizzying hypnosis that all comes to a head with the vocal samples at the breakdowns. This is a perfect track for playing in a lounge or during a warm up set. Love it!
