Track of the Day: Denney ft. Derrick Carter - Mr. Big Hat

For today’s track of the day we have a collaboration from two of my favorite names in the house and tech house space. Last month Denney released ‘Full Circle EP’ for Heidi Presents Jackathon Jams. The new EP’s A-Side is a track called ‘Mr. Big Hat’ that Denney produced with Derrick Carter, one of the pioneers of house music in Chicago and a staple of the scene for over 20 years. ‘Mr. Big Hat’ gives us the perfect combination of Denney's youth and Carter's wealth of experience. The result is a high energy bodyjacking tech house track with a hypnotic bass line and a heavy injection of soul. Very fun tune. That was his first #1 track and it attracted the support of major players around the world like Pete Tong, MANDY, and Damian Lazarus. Since then Denney has released tracks for a wide range of major industry labels from Ministry of Sound and VIVa LIMITED to Voltaire Music and Toolroom. It is also noteworthy that Denney collaborates on a significant proportion of his work.
