Track of the Day: Oxia - Domino (Matador Remix)

Last week saw the release of a remix package for one of my favorite tracks of all time. I can still remember the day I pulled this out of the bin back in 2006 while digging through crates of vinyl. It is one of my most prized pieces in my vinyl collection and a track I love to pull out in many of my sets on the regular. I just about jumped out of my skin when Oxia announced the remix pack to celebrate the songs 10 year anniversary. It includes 2 new re-work's from Oxia along with two more ethereal remixes from Robag. Franky & Sandrino deservedly have their remix recognized along with one more from Matador which is our track of the day. You put one of my favorite tracks "Domino" in the hands of one of my favorite producers, Matador, and you can be assured we are going to spend some time talking about it. Kicking the groove off right away with a punchy kick and clav combo the sub bass softly pumps away in the background while the occasional vocal screams building excitement around the introduction of elements that create and compliment the lead from the original track. To which Matador adds his signature plucky style along with loads of accompanying strings and synths. Adding to that are all of the percs and FX in the track that make Matadors productions so unique and interesting. The fact that this song on its own is able to stand up against anything being produced today is a testament to its original producer Oxia who deserves huge ovation for his work on this track obviously. The rest of the remixes and edits are down below so make sure to give them all a listen and grab them from where ever it is you consume music.
