Track of the Day: Rauschhaus - Moogadishu

Going back to an old favorite today. Rauschhaus comes to Steyoyoke with a new EP 'Escape Game' released last week. Three tracks of pure melodic techno genius set to take you on a journey. For the Track of the Day I went with 'Moogadishu'. I love the title, it definitely gave me a bit of a laugh. For those of you who may not be too familiar with their synths or geography Mogadishu is a capital city in Somalia and MOOG is a style/brand of Synth. It is like a symphony of arpeggios as multiple synths dart back and forth throughout the mix meandering up and down the scales. A delicate low droning bass line drives the track as different pads wander through the mix, accentuating the very ethereal feel to the track, for which the label is so well known for. The other two tracks on this EP are absolutely fantastic as well. 'Queen of Thorns' is a bit more on the deeper side of things, like some straight spooky techno, and Escape Game with its punchy kick and tripped out keys is a great one to keep you going in the early morning hours for sure.If you havent had a chance to check it out yet Christian Varela put together a stellar 2hr guest mix on 4 CDJ's for us this week. Make sure you give it a listen.
