Today we have one from DC-based DJ and producer Nick Garcia. In early March Garcia released ‘Fenix EP’ on Night Vision Music. This marks Garcia’s second EP for Night Vision and it is certainly another step forward creatively for an under recognized talent. The EP’s title track is a deep and emotive track that is tailor made for the club. ‘Fenix’ makes use of painstakingly refined synths, a hypnotizing stab, and a low, hard hitting kick that drives the energy of the track. ‘Fenix’ has just enough weird in it to really capture your attention without getting too experimental. Garcia currently manages Sharam’s Yoshitoshi Recordings where he oversees marketing, A&R, and financial operations on top of wearing the hat of an in-house mastering engineer. Aside from his work with Yoshitoshi, Garcia has worked on tracks for some pretty serious artists and labels including Toolroom Records and Armada Music. Regarding his original music most of his work has been released by the Edomonton-based label Night Vision Music. Make sure to check out his EPs 'Stereosoul' (out on Night Vision) and 'Stress' (out on Dubco) as well.
