Track of the Day: Luke Garcia, Th3 Oth3r - Ellipse (Nicone Remix)

This week we reached a milestone here at LAMP. Here we are at Weekly Mix #150. About a year and a half ago we asked Durante to do #76 for us and now he is back with another incredible mix for #150. He starts his mix off with a unique twist similar to his last mix for us. Setting the mood with a string quartet before taking us on musical journey that ends with our track of the day, 'Ellipse'. Ephemeral Music released the Nicone remix along with the original from Luke Garcia & Th3 Oth3r back in May of this year. Via Durante's mix the Nicone remix found its way into our Track of the Day Selection. Nicone doesn't really stray to far from the original with massive sweeping pads and booming bass lines that roll along effortlessly. The major difference for me from the original has to be the altering of the lead synth to take on more of an acid vibe. It really adds a solid punch to the track accentuating the already exceptional groove. Nicone's remix is a powerful track that I really feel is synonymous with the entire mix that Durante provided for us.
