Track of the Day: Marco Tegui - The Wall

Stepping in for PZB today so I thought I would bring you an interesting track I have been listening to. Today we have ‘The Wall’ from Marco Tegui’s ‘Strings EP’ which he released for free on his soundcloud. ‘The Wall’ is an eye-catching departure from Tegui’s normal fare and one that I was glad to have come across. The EP as a concept fuses both acoustic sounds and synthesized beats into a beautiful and unique sound reminiscent of stimming. ‘The Wall’ in particular showcases an eerie piano sample alongside a groovy bassline that can’t help but get the blood pumping.[soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/162607566" params="color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]Marco Tegui is a Peruvian DJ and producer based in the beach city of Playa Del Carmen down in Mexico. Tegui is a grinder. Pure and simple. And when you consistently put out high quality music labels like Café del Mar, Toolroom, and Get Physical recognize your talent. Tegui’s sound is broad. If you had to put a label on it much of his recent work would be classified as melodic tech house. But EP’s like ‘Strings’ remind you that there’s more to Tegui than just the pure dancefloor grooves.
