Today’s Track of the Day arrives to us all the way from France by way of the rising young producer, singer, and songwriter Marlin. Racking in streams by the tens of thousands on Spotify and SoundCloud, Marlin has quickly made a name for himself in the French dance music scene. With official remixes for Selah Sue and Childish Gambino, compelling bootlegs of artists like SZA and Miguel, and his own original works, Marlin synthesizes his unique style by blending elements of house, disco, r&b, funk, and hip-hop for a fresh and exuberant sound that is all his own.[embed]https://soundcloud.com/le_marquis/up-all-night-marlin-remix[/embed]In his latest official release, Marlin takes on “Up All Night” by fellow French producer LeMarquis. Marlin takes LeMarquis’s fun and carefree original and completely flips the script, turning it into a vibrant and funky club banger. Marlin ditches almost all of the original production and instead plays his own synth chords, bass line, and vocal chops. He layers his own played parts with LeMarquis’s original vocal takes, and puts it all over the top of a slamming house-oriented drum pattern. The final product is an infectiously groovy dance-floor killer sure to have any club going harder than the Champs-Élysée following France’s World Cup victory on Sunday. Well… maybe not that hard, but you get the picture. For more from Marlin check him out on Spotify or SoundCloud below.[embed]https://soundcloud.com/valentin-marlin[/embed]
