'Heart Weighs A Ton' (Cassian Remix) - Alex Metric

Cassian brings his signature kicks into the fold and drops some deep bass lines in his deep house rework of Alex Metric's hit 'Heart Weighs A Ton'. Stefan Storm's vocals echo throughout the track captivating the listener as Cassian takes us on an ethereal journey of the heart and soul. Simplicity is a trait that this producer lives by but he's always quick to note that the complexity exists when there is an appropriate need for it. Stripped of most of the original's big room elements, Cassian hones in on some wonderful piano loops and delivers a powerful bass line harkening back to those detuned D&B low-end sounds. The track wastes no time with it's opening percussion loops and thumping kicks propelling the track into a series of cool opening reverb samples and hints of some really sultry bass lines trickle in. A soothing breakdown let's the vocals dance over top of the delightfully bright piano progressions and light claps. The aforementioned bass line really encapsulates an excellent rendition of the original track providing an essential crowd pleaser to any deep house set.We had the pleasure of having Cassian headline one of our shows a few years back, and have been avid fans of his work for quite some time. Since his first release on Band Gang 12s EP he's really made a name for himself, case in point as a featured remixer for this Alex Metric track. It's safe to say that Cassian is an accomplished DJ and producer on the rise and most recently his original production 'Runnin' made it's way on to Sweat It Out.He is often the go-to for Australian dance acts who need a real engineer wizard to brighten up their sound and put that professional polish on their mix downs.
