LAMP Premiere: Dubesque - Jackago
Hi LAMP Fam! As always I hope this finds you Happy and Healthy. It is time for another premiere. Today we have a big tune for you. I have been especially excited to share this one so let's jump right into it. Coming to you from the relatively new label EI8HT, set up by Eats Everything & Andres Campo is the latest EP from Austrian producer Dubesque. Let me start off by saying I am just discovering this artist and have become enamored with just about everything this incredible producer has been making. The last couple of years have seen an uptick in his output, during which time he has put out a record with the legendary Turbo Recordings along with others coming from Sola Records, Kneaded Pains (another favorite of mine), along with Nervous Records and several others. This latest endeavor of his coming out the 23rd of October on EI8HT titled Jeztz is a four track EP that is solid from top to bottom.
I am beyond excited to share the third track on this EP titled Jackago. So many great things to talk about with this track. I'm a big fan of most things that involve House and Jack. If you are familiar with jackin' house then the "Jack the House" vocal should feel familiar to you. This is the kind of house and techno Chicago and Detroit were built on, and Im sure the title Jackago is a play on that. Right away we are treated to a massive kick that paves the way for the rest of the percussive elements that create groove that is sure to get you moving. My favorite part of the track has got to be the chopped up synth stabs. I am always in the mood for a good set of stabs and Jackago really gets going once Dubesque introduces them to the track. All in all this is one of my favorite tracks I have heard all year. It ticks all the boxes and gets me excited everytime I listen to it. Honestly this whole EP is massive. I cant wait for things to settle down so I can hear this on a proper club soundsystem and watch people lose their shit to this as I am sure they will. Gonna be keeping a very close eye on Duesque going forward and I strongly suggest you dive into his library either on Beatport or Spotify and Soundcloud. Austrian DJ/producer, Dubesque, drops a heavyweight EP on Eats Everything & Andres Campo’s flourishing EI8HT label. Following up recent releases for Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains label and Tiga’s Turbo Recordings, Dubesque cues up four blistering tracks on the ‘Jetzt’ EP.
‘Ich Bin Jetzt’ fires out of the blocks at breakneck pace, with a funky and direct techno jam, whilst snare drums twist and scatter on ‘Jack The Box’. A touch of disco is injected into ‘Jackago’ for a deeper and impassioned club cut, and the EP is rounded off with the percussive tribal vibes of ‘U Knowles’.
