LAMP Guest Mix #319 feat Roy LaCroix

Hey LAMP fam. New mix for you coming from someone we have been keeping tabs on and a name you should keep on your radar if you are not familiar, Roy LaCroix. I first met Roy on the floors of NAMM a few years ago and we have stayed in touch ever since. He is an ambassador for the music scene and has been making strides since his breakthrough performances in college finishing as the runner up for Red Bull’ Threestyle a nationally run competition to showcase the best DJ’s throwing down at University across the country. Since then he has had opportunities to share the stage with some of the biggest DJ’s on the planet including Steve Aoki, Dada Life, Duke Dumont and Diplo to name a few. Never taking himself too seriously but being serious about what he does his style encompasses many different facets of electronic music and shows through in this latest mix giving us a little bit of everything from house to bass house, tech house and some old classics that will for sure get you moving.

Raised in St. Louis, Missouri, LaCroix is now based in LA. You may remember we featured a remix of his that he did for Stefan Seay in February of last year. He also has a dope release out on Treasure Fingers label Psycho Disco. Make sure you check those out below as well and be sure to give him a follow to stay up to date on what he is up to.

A little fun fact about Roy LAcroix is his love for golf. He was able to put it on display this spring when he was featured as a contestant on the ABC show Holey Moley. Where contestants compete on a ridiculous but incredibly fun miniature golf course that would test even the most accomplished amateur and professional golfers. Think of it as a mix of part mini golf/ part obstacle course. His episode is Season 2 Episode 3. You can catch all of the episodes including his on Hulu.

HOLEY MOLEY – “That Man Knows How to Ride a Weiner” – On this week’s brand-new trip to the iconic “Holey Moley” course, a professional author faces off with an aspiring professional golfer on the never-before-seen hole, Gopher It, where contestants need to ride the mechanical gopher mascot, Sir Goph, which sits 20 feet high, before even attempting a putt. On the other side of the course, a competitor dubbed “frat boy” impresses the crowd by running across the 38-foot-long bridge through the water cannons on Water Hazard. Later, a fight breaks out between a contestant and the port-a-potty doors on Hole Number Two. Another competitor who moonlights as a DJ gives it his all on Buns & Weiners, despite his opponent cheering for his failure from the sidelines. The finalists battle it out on new season two-hole Frankenputt, sending one to the grand finale for a chance at the $250,000 prize, when “Holey Moley” airs THURSDAY, JUNE 4 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC.
