Track of the Day: Vandelux - Stimulus

While out at Coachella this weekend I ran into a buddy of mine who turned me on to a new artist based out of Vancouver B.C. who goes by the name Vandelux. Seriously got to keep an eye on what this guy is up to. When I got home one of the first things I did was go and pillage his SoundCloud page of all the free downloads he has. There are several of them, and some classic Biggie & Snoop remixes in there that I'm sure most of you all will enjoy as well. 'Stimulus' appears to be the first original from Vandelux. An incredible tune you will undoubtedly find yourself bouncing to. Kicking off with a twanged out guitar, banjo's (I think) and lots of bass. 'Stimulus' oozes with vibes of southern bluegrass, hip-hop and rock with a little western flair. I honestly cant get enough of the massive reverberating bass lines ebbing in flowing in the background with the sharp staccato guitar plucks. There are also some old vocal cuts from the 50's it sounds like that are chopped up and sprinkled in adding loads of character and adding to the overall theme of the song. Looking forward to more originals from him if this is what we can expect.Now if you now what is good for you you will also head over and grab whatever free downloads Vandelux has right now before the evil ones at Soundcloud catch on and pull all his remixes. The one above is one of his most recent and absolute genius. Not sure if its available to download but there are plenty of others I strongly recommend. He appears to have a particular affection to Notorious B.I.G. with several remixes and mash-ups featuring the departed legend. One of my personal favorites is the Snoop Dog & P. Williams 'Chop It Like Its Hot' Remix. Really happy to have come across Vandelux. Have a feeling this dude is on his way to some pretty great things. Originally from Luxemborg and now transplanted in Vancouver we hear at LAMP will be keeping a very close eye on this talented young producer.We have this little shindig happening out in Palm Springs for Weekend 2 of Coachella that I made a mix for this week. It contains tracks from all of our featured artists this weekend.
