Shigeto - Tide Pools

Layers upon layers of beautifully constructed sounds make up an ethereal composition in 'Tide Pools' by Shigeto. As the title implies Shigeto designs a liquid state of mind using a wonderful collection of percussive elements combined with an array of synths providing a delightfully complex soundscape. The concept of a tide pool, in my mind, seems to reflect the ebb and flow of this song, as if the pools themselves are creating these sounds. Imagine a collection of chimes and other instruments that react to the natural elements of the pools like the ocean breeze and waves providing an orchestral rendition of liquid resonance.Shigeto aka Zach Saginaw grew up enveloped in music as his father educated him in the world of Motown and jazz. From a very young age he began playing drums an apparent influence on his productions. The pursuit of his music career became apparent with stints at several top tier music programs including the New School in New York. His move to Brooklyn solidified his intent on showcasing his acquired talents and knowledge of electronic music production. Several EPs both under Shigeto and his other alias Frank Omura, remixes galore have provided a exciting beginning to this multi-talented producer's career. This carefully crafted bio on Ghostly can give you a further understanding of who Shigeto is, and what we can look forward to from him in the future. This remix for Quantic is exciting and ties in a lot of those awesome bell loops we here in 'Tide Pools':Ghostly International is one of those dynamic labels that has built a exceptional reputation based on the foundation of releasing dynamic and eclectic music. In my personal opinion it is one of the greatest underground electronic labels in the world. It has the respect from producers and musicians worldwide and continuously sets new standards and is groubreaking in it's trend setting tastes.Check out their extensive library and a plethora of downloads here:You can listen to this and other tracks from this week's Guest Mix courtesy of MR PUZL:Enjoy,MR PUZL
