Track of the Day: Roska - 'This May Take A While'

Once again feeling a little late to the party on this one. I first came across Roska when I discovered last years release '6 years of RKS'(Roska Kicks & Snares). From that point forward I have been snatching up just about everything I can from Roska and the RKS label. His latest release 'This May Take A While' is an instant classic. A funky blend of bass and vocals combined with a light and airy organ that flutters through the track. Some pure house shit. Which is pretty much status quo for him.As I mentioned before Roska is no newcomer to the scene. Ive just somehow been living under a rock. Starting to make a name for himself in the UK back around 2007 he was invited to start a radio show for Rinse FM in 2009 which he still puts on weekly every Tuesday 7pm - 9pm GMT(radio.rinse.fm/). He used the Rinse platform to further launch his sound as well as his own label Roska Kicks & Snares which has steadily been pumping out releases since its first one back in 2008. Glad I found them cause it has become a go to scource for me when I need some serious funk in my life. Here is a free download of an edit he posted yesterday. Tonight I am playing on the rooftop of the Montalban Theater as part of the summer concert series put on by Hush Concerts. Saturday we will also be out on the west end of the Santa Monica Pier again with the one and only Daedelus along with Frosty who make up Adventure Time. Come have some fun with me this weekend!!
