Track Of The Day: Piemont - Omm

[soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/230438552" params="color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]Another Piemont track for you today.  Josh highlighted a fantastic remix by the German duo the other week so I thought that today I would bring you one of their original tracks.  ‘Omm’ is the B-Side of ‘Short But Chunky’, Piemont’s release on Materialism from last November.  It’s a really cool track that speaks to a deeper motive behind Piemont’s music than just providing the tunes for parties.  ‘Omm’ utilizes a bouncy bassline and spacy synths to create a fun, poolside cabana track that is perfect for sipping piña coladas to and dancing under the sun.  But the vocal sample was an artistic choice.  The track builds up and drops but that beat goes ‘omm’ from start to finish.  A nice little spiritual touch that lives up to their signature brand of ‘organic techno’.[soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/playlists/179749479" params="color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]As Josh mentioned the other week, Piemont had a busy year in 2015, having earned themselves the 24th spot on Traxsource’s list of the ‘Top 100 tech house Artists of 2015’.  2016 looks to be much of the same.  So far this year Piemont have already released a new set for 303Lovers Radio Show as well as a new EP on Definition Music.  I’m looking forward to more of that thick ambiance from the production powerhouse moving forward.[soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/242267513" params="color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]I’m also looking forward to the LAMP 3 year anniversary party this weekend.  Last year’s anniversary party at V Lounge was an amazing party but The Powers That Be have decided to up the ante this year and booked a couple of monster headliners to play alongside the LAMP roster.  L’Affaire Musicale and Ouija Entertainment are partnering up with LAMP to bring MANIK and Sacha Robotti (Dirtybird) to Skybar for some poolside fun.  The heated pool at the Mondrian is my favorite spot in Los Angeles for a winter pool party so I’m particularly excited to join this one!  Make sure to buy your tickets sooner than later!Click on the flyer and use the promo code LAMP for $10 tickets.LAMP-3-Year-1280
