Track of the Day: Oliver Schories - Largo

Getting ready for another excursion out to the desert with the LAMP and Free Grilled Cheese family this weekend. Going through all of my music sources looking for new tracks for the excursion and came across this new one from Oliver Schories. He has been mentioned but surprisingly this is the first time we will have featured anything from Schories here at LAMP. Released on his own label SOSO 'Largo' is one of two new tracks from the German producer. The track begins with a mechanical groove that reminds me of a locomotive. A big booming kick and percussive elements perfectly placed to give that driving and chugging feel of a train at high speed. About a minute in he introduces a droning bass line that buzzes and vibrates through your whole body. Outside of the wonderful and haunting vocal during the break, Schories adds in a few other vocal samples, accentuating the track with pads that swing in from left and right and a soft little chord stab line that sort of acts as a lead. There is fullness to the track that is very satisfying. In addition to this track there is one more original 'Corso' as well as a remix of 'Largo' from Florian Kruse all of which are out now.Based out of Hamburg Germany, Schories along with his label SOSO Records caught my attention a few years back. Producing for many of the top labels in house and techno and those that are featured he quite often, such as Suara, Stil vor Talent, Kittball, Parquet Recordings, and Einmusika. Another track that I really love what he did with is 'Kickschool79' by Thomas Schumacher. I have the original off of Speil-Zeug on Vinyl and is still one of my all time favorites. To be honest I am not sure how long he has been producing beyond the last few years but I am sure with the output I have seen from the gentleman as of late he is quite easily still on the rise. On par with any of the best producers out there and being sought after across the globe at clubs and festivals alike. We will have more from Schories in the future I can assure you of that. In the mean time explore his Soundcloud and the other tracks we have posted below. We have an incredible guest mix this week from Bezem who are based out of Amsterdam and probably getting down super hard at ADE this week. Check them out here and make sure to give their mix a listen below if you missed it.
