Track of the Day: JSPR - Look At The Mirror

Time for some no holds barred techno to help get you through the hump day. Elevate Records championed by techno legends Pig & Dan have been supplying us with some high quality techno grooves for around 6 years now and we have featured some earlier releases here in the past. The latest release for the label is a three track EP from JSPR. While I have been following his music for a while now I doo not know too much about him other than his releases which can be found across many labels including Alleanza, Get Physical, Minus and SCI+Tec to name a few. For our track of the day we are going to check out "Look At The Mirror".No rest for the weary with "Look At The Mirror" as JSPR jumps right into the smashing groove. A massively round yet punchy kick rumbles through the track incessantly only occasional dropping out for a 1 or 2 bar break as to break up some of the phrasing of the track. I really enjoy the complexity JSPR brings to the piece with a minimal number of instruments. The track is pure techno at its core. 80 percent of it feels percussive in nature whether it is a synth stab, cymbal, high hat or whatever and the rest is a series of chimes and pads that add some layering and atmosphere to the song. Combined that with a spectacular arrangement and it you are left with a track that makes you feel almost superhuman with all of the energy it brings.
