Track of the Day Feat. Jungle & Majora

Track of the Day #1 Jungle - Time (Joe Goddard Mix)I learned that I need to be paying way closer attention to my music these days. I feel like I almost missed the boat on this one. This last friday a good friend of mine invited me out to a show at the Fonda theater. I had no good reason to turn him down as just about every show that I have seen at that venue has been pretty good to fucking amazing. To make a longer story shorter...my friend had tickets to see the band Jungle. I had never heard of them. At least thats what I thought. I decided to check in my library to see if I had any by chance and sure enough there was this track. I wasn't surprised to see it there as it is a remix of the track by Joe Goddard who is a producing genius and also a member of a little group called Hot Chip. Jungle on Friday was really good. The set was kind of short because I don't think they have very many songs. I feel like they are fairly new. The songs they did play though were amazing. Every song had such a full and unique sound. They are for sure on to something though with the way they craft and arrange all of their sounds. Gonna keep checking back on these guys for sure.Track of the Day #2 Majora - ExactlyMajora is new to me from the UK. I noticed this EP on the Sounds of Sumo label and decided to check it out. What I found was a dark and soulful UK Garage sound with a little bit of that breakbeat flavor thrown in there. Then all of a sudden the tracks go sort of disco with that sort of straight up house organ vibe. It's certainly a good cross blend of the house genres. Plus with the backk=ing of Sounds of Sumo you know your in for some big time bounce your ass house music.
