Track of the Day: DJ Hell - Guede (Joyce Muniz Terror + Natur Remix)

If you have been following along this week at LAMP then you probably noticed that I jumped in for the weekly mix as I will do from time to time. I really wanted to explore some of the new music I have been buying and receiving as promos and see what kind of journey I could set off on with the mix this week. I obviously like all of the tracks I put in the mix and often I would say it is difficult to pick just one track as a favorite. That is not the case this week. While there may be one or two that come close, Joyce Muniz absolutely smashed my mind with this rendition of DJ Hell's "Guede". This track is an adventure on its own taking me to musical places that are rare and beautiful. One of the things that really stands out to me is the wailing saxophone. The remix on the whole reminds me of some of the music that Vitalic made for La "leggenda di Kaspar Hauser" (a crazy spaghetti western style indi movie). An interesting sidenote that relates is that The Hacker actually encouraged Vitalic to send his music to DJ Hell's label International Deejay Gigalos back in the early 2000's which really kind of brings this all full circle in a weird sort of way. This rendition is 100% going to be in my top playlist for the foreseeable future. I always put the songs on repeat and listen to them while I am writing. I honestly could listen to this song on repeat all day long and never get tired of it. You know its good when you get to where your finished writing and you still keep it on repeat. Enjoy.
