This time he was pegged for a remix on Danny Serano’s latest EP ‘Dirty Wake’, out now on Eat and Beat, Serano’s own label. ‘Wake (Metodi Hristov Remix)’ is an excellent contribution to the EP. Hristov’s remix takes the fun, upbeat energy of the original track and flips it on its head, taking it to a deeper and darker place. The track makes use of moody synths, a heavy bassline, and powerful snares that attune to Metodi’s signature style of dark tech house beats. Pure and simple. Many producers and DJ’s tend to focus their creative energies on either producing tracks or spinning, usually to the detriment of the other craft. Not only is he Beatport’s number 1 Tech House producer over the last 12 months, beating out artists like Green Velvet and Olivier Giacomotto, but Hristov drops sets like he did for Familia at London’s Egg just last month. Hristov has put tracks out on many of the industry’s biggest labels including Suara, Gruuv, and Glasgow Underground. More recently, Hristov released a 3 track EP for Noir called “That’s Normal”.Danny Serrano is no slouch himself.
