Track of the Day: Arnold & Baggotts - Altair
Venturing into a little progressive house today with this release "Altair" from Solarstone's Pure Progressive, one of the many sub-labels of Black Hole Records. Arnold & Baggotts are a relatively new production team made up of Steve Arnold (a former Godskitchen resident) and fellow producer Jamie Baggotts. As I am admittedly not up to date on my progressive house and trance producers it was fun to dive into the genre a little bit today. I still really enjoy this genre and if I am being honest with everyone I was a bit of a Trance/progressive house junkie back in the late 90's and 2000's for sure.I am not sure if we have ever talked about any tracks of this genre in the past and if we have it is few and far between. Since sharing new music of all shapes and sizes is what we are all about here I figured it would be fun to shift gears and share this incredible track from a good dude who works hard in music. Altair is the follow up to Triangulum which debuted earlier this year on the same label. Sit back and let yourself float away with this one. A cascading synth sets the tone along with the groove at the onset of the track taking its time building as is such with progressive tunes gradually introducing each new element. A brief tease of a stabbing polyphonic synth with a bit of delay during the beginning of the track (my personal attraction to the song) sets up for its return during the very dreamy breakdown. The vocal sample is great. It kind of gives me a sort of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory vibe but if it made music instead of candy. It's like chocolate for your ears. I had the pleasure of hanging out in Croatia with Arnold for a weekend a couple years back and am happy to see and hear he is back in the studio making tunes again. I am hoping we can expect more in the future from these two. Keep an eye out. Ill throw some links down below for you to check out some of their other stuff as well.
