Today we have a track from native Berliner Lars Moston. At the end of Septermber, Moston contributed a wonderful remix of Thosten Karger’s progressive house tune ‘Mustache’, out on Guesthouse Berlin. Moston does a remarkable job of taking Karger’s mesmerizing original mix, injecting a little more house into it, and restructuring it into something entirely his own. The focus of Karger’s version is a nice arpeggio sequence in the verse whereas Moston simplifies the melody at the beginning while grinding the bass down and adding a funny vocal sample. I really like what Moston does with the melody. He builds it up to the arpeggio over the course of the track the second until it resolves in the final verse. It totally changes the arc of the track. Moston’s remix is a high energy track that would fit perfectly into a peak hour tech house set. Feels like something dOP would drop.Lars Moston is a DJ and producer from Berlin. Moston began releasing music back in 2007 and over the last 10 years has steadily increased his presence. Moston covers a broad range of house music with his discography and has come to work with some pretty incredible producers ands labels. He has released with Stil Vor Talent, Katermukke, and Suara as well as having released a significant body of work on his friend Malente’s label No Brainer. Moston has also collaborated with acts like Teenage Mutants, Ben Finn, and Martin Waslewski. Moston’s track ‘Hypnosize’, produced alongside Katermukke boss Dirty Doering and Sacha Cawa, reached the top of Beatport’s top 100 back in 2014.
