Track of the day: The Reason Y - Whisper (Nick Curly Remix)

This weeks dig has been extremely fruitful. Pulling from Second State, the label of master producers Pan-Pot, we have 'Whisper', originally produced by The Reason Y. Our track of the day, falls to one of my all time go to producers in all things house, Mr. Nick Curly. The original is a slow, deep, bass laden groove with a whispering voice, that seems to have an intention to enlighten the mindless masses to step out of the everyday monotony of the media. Curly takes the whispering voice and adds a thumping and driving techno groove to it running relentlessly through the entire track. With classic bass cut outs that slam back into the groove exploding with energy. A rolling bass line defines the track, along with lots of different FX, weaving their way in and out through the mix. He also remixes the vocal giving it a slightly different tone I really like. Comes off sounding more intense and meaninful. I love the chimes he throws in near the end of the track out of the blue. It completely catches you off guard and fits so well. Overall Curly has put together a great remix here that really shows off his ability to work outside of specific genre lines and create something that sounds unique yet strikingly familiar at the same time.Lets talk about this legend German producer Nick Curly for a moment. Not even sure I can put into words how incredible this dude is when it comes to creating and playing music that tells a story. He is quite possibly one of the most sought after DJ's on the planet. One look at his gig schedule and you will understand. This month alone he will travel to Lebanon, Paris, 2 times in Ibiza, Germany several times, Algiers, Tenerif (Canary Islands), Turkey, Netherlands, Hungary, and the UK. Seriously shaking my head right now. How does he do all of that and continue to create some of the best dance music on the planet? He has been doing it since he jumped into the scene around 2008. Have had the chance to watch him perform a few times and he delivers the vibes every time. Also the owner and operator of 8 Bit Records, he is one of the few people in the industry who is constantly pushing the frontiers of where his music can go. Gonna let the music do the rest of the talking. Enjoy. Also make sure to check out this weeks weekly mix with our guest artist also from Deutchland Nils Orhman.
