Track of the Day: Mura Masa & Octavian - Move Me
For today’s Track of the Day selection we’re very pleased to bring you a brand new single and music video from the ever-enigmatic Mura Masa. The London based producer returns to releasing original material almost one year removed from his acclaimed debut LP with a new one-off single “Move Me”, featuring the vocal talents of Octavian. Combining elements of grime, and afropop, with his characteristically vibrant and playful production, Mura Masa delivers a summer-time ready dance floor killer. To the casual listener, the track sounds warm and care free but on a good set of monitors or a solid car stereo, the drums and bass shine and take on a grittier and more aggressive stance, proving that Masa’s attention to detail will not go unnoticed when “Move Me” hits the club and festival circuit.[embed]https://soundcloud.com/muramasamusic/move-me[/embed]If the single wasn’t enough to satiate eager fans, Mura Masa has teamed up with director Yoni Lappin to create the visual for me. The video shows Octavian and his crew vibing out and dancing to “Move Me” as they kick it on the streets of London. Lappin adds an extra aesthetic touch, using the camera motion to distort reality and add a surreal element to the visual dialogue. Check out the video below, and if you like it, stay tuned because Mura Masa had revealed that this is actually part one of a two-part video, that was all shot on the same day. The second installment is slated for release in the coming months and will be accompanied by a brand new original track titled “Complicated”. Watch this space for more from Mura Masa and be sure to catch him live when he makes his return to Los Angeles at the Novo on August 25th.[embed]https://youtu.be/Tbz6xQkewo4[/embed]
