Track of The Day: Michael Fam - Richard Gets A Fresh Cut
Our good friends at The 900 Block are releasing their first EP and we are excited to share it with you today. Celebrating their 3 year anniversary this weekend The 900 Block has been on a steady rise. If you have been to one of their events over the years then you know what's up. For the rest of you if you live in LA make sure to keep an eye out as they are doing great things for the underground house and techno scene here in Los Angeles. To commemorate this occasion and offer a gift back to their loyal supporters 900 Block residents Michael Fam and Stefan Seay put together a 2 track EP which you can get your hands on today. One of which is Michael Fam's track "Richard Gets a Fresh Cut". Coming off of his fresh release on Understated Records All Of US compilation last week, Michael has been hard at work in the studio this year getting his producer chops ready so he can charge into 2019 on a positive note.With "Richard Gets A Fresh Cut" Fam gets us going immediately with a classic house groove with its classic kick and snare combo intermingled with a lively percussive accompaniment. Varying vocal elements from the tenor voice just popping off in the background to the wailing female vocal are so reminiscent of those 80's and 90's house classics. Continuing to add to the vibe are several stabbing organs and other little synths working in rhythm with a really fun 303 acid bass line. If this is what we can expect from Michael Fam going forward it is a good bet we are going to be seeing and hearing much more from Michael Fam and The 900 Block looking into the future.
