Luv Can't Hurt (Nebraska '79 Mix) - Salvatore Freda

Nebraska's rework is timeless and really invokes a classic house style that he expertly has honed and developed over the years. The track starts off with a smooth synth loop and roll that builds into a nice bass line groove. As the song progressive, layer upon layer of instrumentals are subtly introduced and culminate with a wonderful drop into more builds. The dub-like arrangement to beginning of the track flows nicely into some amazing echoing vocal loops that provide a nice bridge into the second drop off drums about halfway through the tune. The use of very soft kicks and tight high-hat patterns allow for the bass notes to really develop and have room to breathe.Nebraska (aka Ali Gibbs) has really kept to himself over the past decade apart from releasing 12-inches once and a while along with a few albums including his freshman EP, "Mixed Up Music for Mixed Up" People. He eventually made a more public outreach with a debut on Rush Hour records, featuring "Terrestrial Variations" in 2009. His last release LP "Displacement" featured previously unreleased music as well as a CD release of the album that will also contain selections from his back catalogue.Definitely make sure to check out the original from Salvatore Freda. What an amazing time in the desert this weekend with the LAMP family to celebrate the birthday of one of our very own, Sleepy Cat.
