Track of the Day feat. Rodriguez Jr, Tapesh, Dayne S and Detroit Swindle
If you haven't heard the exciting news already Brooks and Millar dropped their latest track as an Exclusive Download on Do Androids Dance last Friday. Check out the track below and leave some messages on the track, I know they'd really appreciate it.As the week comes to a close I've got 4 really solid tracks to share with you today from Rodriguez Jr., Tapesh, Dayne S, and Detroit Swindle. I'm at the airport trying to get this all done before I head up to Outside Lands, so forgive the brevity of my write-ups today! Also we've got something special coming out of Sleepy Cat's studio next week so stay tuned.
Mascarade (Rodriguez Jr. Remix) - Felix Cage
This track came out a few years back and is still a fun one to play out. I was fortunate to be hunting in my library for a good tune to mix out of that awesome Moonwalk track. The build up in this track has a nice soft groove as well as some beautifully padded drum loops. Rodriguez Jr. never disappoints, and I highly recommend getting his latest "Persistence Of Vision" EP
Hum Hum (Tapesh & Daniel Fernandes Remix) - LouLou Players, Sharam Jey
Can never go wrong with anything Tapesh puts out. This time he teams up with Daniel Fernandes to produce a fantastic remix of Kolombo and Sharam Jey's hit "Hum Hum". The original already has a ton of funky grooves to it, and this up tempo mashup of both producers solo remixes is fantastic. Turn the sub up strap in and don't forget the password...is play!
Old's Cool (Dayne S Remix) - Nana K.
This track just came out and I had to snap it up on Beatport and find a way to fit this into the mix this week. Luckily a transition from a Tapesh track into this was a no brainer! The rework of this timeless Fugees' track "Ooh La La La" by Nana K. is excellent, and Dayne's rework with his signature bass intro is addictive. Once you get through this version, I recommend listening to Nana K.'s version:
One Day (Detroit Swindle Remix) - Softwar
Myles du Chateau & Jeremy Lloyd aka Softwar are no amateurs when it comes to producing their own sounds and they've been busy over the last 3 years producing and serving up some solid EPs. The latter of those is the "Believe / One Day" EP which has two delicious self titled tracks on it. Check out Believe it has a nice deep house feel to it. Detroit Swindle's remix of One Day has a nice up beat feel to it, along with some awesome cowbells in the intro. The build up set ups nicely with an echoing vocal loop that drops into a sick jazz piano riff that bounces it way through the track.Enjoy,MR PUZL
