LAMP Weekly Mix #142 feat PZB

This week I got another year older and in celebration of that the heads here at LAMP thought it would be a good idea to give the birthday boy another crack at the weekly mix series. Before I go to far I want to give a massive shout out to the whole LAMP family and fans for supporting us over the last few years. Especially my right hand dudes Mr PUZL and the BassMaster who without none of this would even have happened. I love the fact that the last three years my job has been to share music with my friends and the rest of the world. When I look at the reach even just this mix has had it amazes me. There are people listening to our music from every continent except Antarctica (We are going to have to work on that). This past year has been quite the year to be honest. We went from a time when either myself or MR PUZL were doing a mix every week. Now with the number of guest mixes coming through we hardly get the opportunity anymore. From international stars like Sacha Robotti, CLAAP!, Nils Orhmann, & Demarzo to local artists like Aenera, Eric Sharp, & Whitney Fierce just naming off a few. We have been on a good run lately so I am stoked to be able to slip in there between all of these super talented artists every once in a while.Ok lets talk about this mix here for a bit. Techno that is all! Just kidding, but seriously I am not messing around with the intensity level on this mix. I wanted to bring a hard driving techno mix on the level of some of my favorite DJ's in the genre like John Digweed, Dubfire, Adam Beyer & Joseph Capriati. The thing about techno is it has to take you on a journey. You can say that about a lot of music but it is especially true with this style of techno. The other thing about techno is it has to keep a good flow. Gotta keep that groove moving and not have too much build up otherwise it begins to feel too much like trance. There is a lot of stuff out there that is riding that fine line of what I would consider techno but it is way more melodic and euphoric. The tracks I chose for this mix do not fit in that category. These are balls to walls, four on the floor, techno bangers. I went back through my libraries and picked out all of the tracks from this year that I thought would fit that criteria and threw them into a play list and started working from there. The track list is pretty stacked with stuff from Adam Beyer & Joseph Capriati, Len Faki, Anna, Coyu & Ramiro Lopez, Cirez D and more. I put a special intro on the first track where I added a sound byte from an old tv show about Pulsars to give the intro more of a hook otherwise its just me straight mixing on my CDJ's and DJM 2000 in my studio. Hope you enjoy it. Check out the complete track list below.
