LAMP Track of the Day Feat. Stacey Pullen
Whats up all my party people? Apologies for yesterday had some life get in the way but I'm back for one more week of selections before I head to Croatia for the 2014 edition of the Kanegra Beach Festival. In preparation for my gig out there I decided to put together a special set of selections from the artists I will be sharing the stage with while I'm out there. We have a ton of other great stuff happening this week too so make sure to scroll through and check everything out!!
The first set of tracks comes from Detroit Techno master Stacey Pullen!! Stacey's musical background is an interesting one for sure. The son of one of Motown records The Capitals, music is in his blood. Dropping out of college with the support of his family he decided to dedicate himself to music back in the mid 80's. He started working with the legendary Derek May. Who after listening to some of his first tracks gave him a swift but motivating kick in the ass. He saw the talent in Stacey though and encouraged him to sit down with Kevin Saunderson (More on him later in the week). That led to some of his first tracks getting released and from then on he has continued to rise up to be one of the most respected purveyors of house and techno that one could ask for. The first is this Thursday at Sound in Hollywwod. LAMP and some of our friends have gotten together to bring you a Main Course Records Take over with the bosses Bot (Formerly part of Crookers), Astronomar, and Neoteric. We have definitely featured some of their tracks here on Track of the Day and are pretty pumped to be able to bring you this show. Not to mention just like all of our other events its FREE w/ RSVP before 11pm and tickets start at $10. I know for a fact that some pretty amazing special guests are going to show up as well. On Sunday LAMP will be partnering up with our buddies from Touch Vinyl and Silent Frisco to bring you the Seaside Soiree. A first of its kind event at the west end of the Santa Monica Pier. Were gonna have our boys Sleepy Cat and Mr. Puzl along with our newest member to LAMP Devoe and PZB of course. The event starts at 2pm and continues till 9pm. Come enjoy the sunset on the pier with your favorite DJ's from LAMP. Kids 12 and under are free with a ticketed adult. Tickets are $10 in advance. Capacity is limited.
