LAMP Premiere: Sydney Blu - Do The Math

LAMP-Premiere-blog.jpg

Yesterday here at LAMP we had the pleasure of sharing with you one of the hardest working artists in the business Sydney Blu. She is one of those people that when she sets her mind to do something there is no telling her she cant do it and absolutely no getting in her way. Over the years she has been a major fixture in her home town of Toronto while making har mark in both Miami and Los Angeles during her time in those cities as well. One label she has worked cloesly with recently and has a close relationship Soup records. Being so close to New York it is easy to see how she would mesh with this legendary crew born out of New York City in the late 90's to Chis Love of Love & Logic. In addition to throwing legendary parties for the past two decades they have a nice relatively new label that is quickly gaining attention with releases from the likes of Greco, Cizak, Joe Pompeo, Pirupa and of course Sydney Blu. Today we excited to premiere her newest release for you to enjoy, Do the Math. This is Sydney's second EP for SOUP after her "You Don't Understand" album last year. For our premiere today we are focusing on the title track Do The Math. Prepare yourself for an infectious dance groove that will work its way every inch of your body. Sydney gets things going right off the bat with a classic house groove that never relents as she takes us on an adventure filled with rolling bass lines and chopped vocals that you will probably catch yourself trying to sing to after you listen to it for a while, regardless of whether or not you can pick out the actual words, haha. She has put together a tech house monster that perfectly skirts the line between classic house and venturing ever so slightly into that darker world of Techno. After Do the Math make sure to head over to SOUP and check out the rest of the EP and then head over to Beatport and pre-order yourself a copy of this wonderful EP. Also make sure to give her mix for LAMP this week a go as well. In addition to having the new tracks from Do The Math this mix will truely make you feel like you were there dancing in the clubs with her in Miami last week for Winter Music Week. Enjoy.
