LAMP Premiere: Sarajevski feat. Erika - Softlights (Jamie Prado Remix)

LAMP family member, Jamie Prado, returns to our channel this week but this time under the banner of our good friends at House Music With Love. The Swedish based blog, label and artist collective have collaborated with us quite frequently over the past year and we've been really lucky to share similar tastes and now artists as well! Prado's remix comes as part of a package that also includes reworks by acclaimed producers Sun City and Jamie De Von.Prado brings his signature sun-soaked vibes to 'Softlights', injecting a bouncy rhythm and brightness that sets this track up to accompany any summer party. The opening bars kick off with some luscious synths stabs and a wonderful array of sparkling percussion layers (in particular, those soft delayed finger snaps, and subtle rolling hi-hat hits). The lead vocal joins the arrangement harmonizing with a wonderful bassline groove and running chord progression that provide the backbone for the composition. A series of carefully crafted vocal chops and cuts provide nice bridges between each section of the track. The airy sweeps and builds carry the listener into the pre-chorus with ease and make this an effortless listening experience. Several subtle eq automations and other FX pads provide the diversity and keep the character of the track interesting with every passing beat.The original, by brothers Bojan and Aleksandar, paints a moody, auditory landscape with its downtempo pads accompanied by the hypnotic, vocal work of singer Erika.As we mentioned (and with full transparancy) Prado is one of our very own and we've had the pleasure of releasing several other pieces of his music including an EP on our parent label PUZL Records over the years.
