Track of the Day: Solee – Pink Panther

Coming back to Parquet again for our Track of the Day. A little over a month ago we featured another Parquet Recordings track Teutates by Ben Weber and Alex Eilers. When I was putting together that post I noticed the announcement of label head Solee’s upcoming release #169. I was sad and excited because I was afraid that I would not get a chance to talk about this track “Pink Panther” that I have for you today. It almost slipped through the cracks but luckily I was on mix duties this week and It makes for an excellent closing track so of course I added to the mix. This track invokes all sorts of happy feelings for me. It truly feels like I am stepping into a dream world of sound with “Pink Panther”. Im not sure what the wind instrument is, sounds like an oboe but could be a weird flute of some sort. Regardless it is captivating and really gives me this vibe of traveling across a desert expanse with a large caravan as a quick stabbing synth bounces along with the groove. That is just scratching the surface of what this track brings to the table. As the track progress a wonderfully bright series of arp synths, bells, and pads come and whisk us away and it feels as if all of sudden you are just floating through space before being gently brought back to earth to continue on your epic journey. Recently our group went out to the desert for a little all night fun and I got a chance to play this right as the sun was beginning to come up. The energy that this track added to that moment and the reactions from the people dancing was absolutely incredible and one I wont be forgetting soon. So glad I got a chance to share and write about this track, it has fast become one of my favorites of all time. Enjoy and make sure you also check out “Cure” the second track from Solee’s Ep #169 for Parquet down below.
