Track of the Day: Roumex - Tantalis

To start this year out I have really been digging, searching for new artists that are pushing barriers and creating new and unique sounds and arrangements with their music. I don't know if I would classify it as a major label but Kittball Recordings is big enough and label heads Tube and Berger have always been very good at finding and showcasing musicians who meet the criteria for what I mentioned earlier. I was searching through their new releases and came upon "Tantalis" by German duo Roumex. Both coming from a classical instrument back ground they have blended the classical world with deep house and techno beautifully with this release. A soft 808 along with a plucky arpeggio sets things in motion as the piece progresses introducing more elements to the track bit by bit. From violins to brooding pads and pitch bending synths each new instrument perfectly compliments the other and have their own part of the story to tell as the song takes you on a journey from start to finish. After perusing the SoundCloud page for Roumex it is safe to say this duo is on the rise and I will be keeping a close eye for sure. Looking forward to hearing more from them. In the mean time check out some other releases below. Enjoy.
