Track of the Day: Betoko - Balagan

Giving some attention today to Betoko. Someone whose music I have been collecting for last few years. Based in London the Mexican born producer has been a musician practically his entire life and built quite the reputation over the last half decade. He has had a number of charted releases over the years from just about every label and covering genres from house to tech house, progressive and techno. I think some of the first tracks that stuck out for me was some of the releases he had OFF Records and the multitude of stuff for Bunny Tiger. In addition he has had releases on Get Physical, Nurvous, Suara and SOSO, just naming a few. Most recently for Einmusika he has put for a 4 track EP with 2 new original "Balagan" and "Muzzika" with remixes of the two by Balcazar and Beatamines. Betoko's "Balagan" grabs you from the very start with rich booming kick that wraps itself around you like a warm blanket. A fun bouncy lead comes in a little later and takes over before giving way to an enven more fun acid line. It really takes me back to some of those classic rave acid lines of the mid 90's. It feels right at home here in 2017 though and it has a nice progressive groove that really makes it the perfect song for just about anytime of day.
