Track of the Day: T.M.A – Apparillo

Happy Monday my friends! For today’s track we have one from a pair of fresh faces to the LAMP blog. Last week T.M.A, an act from the outskirts of Berlin, released their debut EP on Hanne & Lore’s imprint, Heulsuse. The title track, ‘Apparillo’, is a bubbly tune with a funky beat that fits in perfectly with the Heulsuse sound. ‘Apparillo’ makes use of big, hollow sounding percussion, catchy synth lines, and a whole slew of effects and vocal samples to produce an overtly fun and quirky track. The major tones bring out a warmth that conjures imagery of joy, youth, and magic. This is the kind of track Aslan would drop at the after party for the fall of the White Witch. Love it! Keep up the good work fellas.

T.M.A is the name of a German DJ and production outfit composed of Steven Szpielmann and Patrick Steppons. Steppons and Szpielmann have been making music together since they met in school at the age of 15. Fast forward a few years and the pair have released EP’s on Kindisch, Submarine Vibes, and Atmosphere Records and collaborated with heavy hitters like Andreas Hennenberg, Illy Noize, and Tony Casanova. December 2016 saw the pair return to Get Physical as they released another spectacular remix for WhoMadeWho and contributed a mix to Get Physical Sessions that was truly something special. Keep an eye on Szpielmann and Steppons as they are sure to continue their streak of stellar releases!
