Track of the Day: A Skitzo – Atlantis

Happy Monday my friends! Today we have one from OG Bosnian producer A Skitzo. A couple weeks ago A Skitzo released his latest ‘Atlantis EP’ for Sarajevo based label Submarine Vibes. While the EP features spectacular remixes from Mark Slee and Pammin it is the original mix of the title track ‘Atlantis’ that stands out. A Skitzo uses pulsating progressive sounds in combination with more classical elements to bring out a truly dynamic sound. The verses are fun and upbeat but maintain the melancholic tones set up in the breakdowns. Masterful work!

A Skitzo is a Bosnian DJ and producer based out of Sarajevo. A Skitzo has a deep, lifelong relationship with his music that he traces back to the influences of his family. In a recent interview with Klubikon A Skitzo tells of how his father worked as a composer for several decades while he credits his brother, DJ Psychowsky, with his drive to keep his music at the cutting edge. Since the early 2000’s A Skitzo has become something of a stalwart in the local and regional circuit having played sets for some of the biggest nightclubs and festivals across Europe. He has shared the stage with artists like Nina Kravis, Paul Kalkbrenner, and Digitalism. Nowadays A Skitzo spends his time fostering the next generation of DJs by teaching what he has learned at workshops around Bosnia, Croatia, and Slovenia while he once taught a master class alongside Josh Wink at Exit Festival.
