Track of the Day: 'Right Now' (Shadow Child Remix) - Mary J. Blige

Shadow Child returns with a thumping, electrifying remix of the recently released Mary J Blige track 'Right Now'. The song opens up a with a stomping 4/4 beat and Shadow Childs' signature qwerky 'bleep-boop' synth stabs. The grittiness of the rework really straddles the line of a standard deep house production as I find myself suggesting influences of a tech house production. Heavily charged bass lines mixed in with a more electro style synth lines take the original, a masterful production by Disclosure boys, to another level. The breakdown mid song allows room for Mary's vocals to really open up with some fun reverb effects and cool low rising synths. The "Don't wait for me..." sample echoes throughout the song propelling it's listener forward to conquer the dancefloor. Williams, 'Want You To', a superb remix of Duke Dumont's Won't Look Back and much anticipated instrumental version of the 2013 smash 'Piano Weapon'. It's really hard to think how he'll top himself next year, but that's the most exciting thing about this producer. Unassuming yet calculated with his moves, he can blind side you with an absolutely blinding release and leave you flat on your arse. There's a constant flow of amazing artists coming thorough his Rinse FM posdcasts as well as an endless stream of new tunes from Food Music with his partner is crime Kry Wolf.
