Track of the Day: Pirupa – Activator

Happy Monday my friends! For today’s track we have the latest release from Italian powerhouse Pirupa. ‘Activator’ is the second track on his latest release ‘Solo EP’, out just last week through the boys over at Monaberry. Compared to the rest of the EP, ‘Activator’ offers a darker, more ominous tone. Pirupa utilizes ascending arpeggios and minor scales over a low, pulsating bassline to build tension in this massive melodic house composition. In the second verse he introduces a synthesizer element that continues the gradual build until everything comes together into a perfectly executed drop. ‘Activator’ promises to stoke substantial heat at nightclubs and dusty festival dance floors alike all year long. Fantastic stuff!

Pirupa is a name that many of you may know. He is an Italian producer, DJ, and label boss who has been around the house music scene for some time now. Since it launched in 2015, NONSTOP, Pirupa’s label, has released tracks for many of the world’s top acts including Metodi Hristov, Skream, and Lee Van Dowski. Before that Pirupa experienced massive success as a producer having released tracks for some of the hottest labels including Get Physical, Defected, and VIVa Music. His track ‘Sweet Devil’ for Noir was one of the hottest tracks of 2009 and became one of Beatport’s most downloaded songs while ‘Party Nonstop’, originally out on Desolat, won ‘Track of the Season’ at the 2012 Ibiza DJ Awards.
