Track of the Day feat. Zeds Dead, Diamond D, Statik Selektah

LAMP-trackoftheday-specialblendSpecial Blend is back today with a triple threat serving up some Zeds Dead, a tight Diamond D remix and a tune from the Mass. local Statik Selektah. We had a flurry of stuff coming out yesterday between our Silent Frisco announcement to Special Blend's Free Download release, both of which you need to check out.

Dead Price feat. Sean Price - Zeds Dead

I remember first checking these dudes out at a Mad Decent Block Party show and at the time I was listening to some dubstep and electro. Not so much my cup o' joe any more but I still try and catch these cats when they come into town cause they bring some incredible energy. Also they always drop a track here an there that hark back to the proper Drum & Bass days, and I'm a sucker for that.

Blu & Nottz feat. Nitty Scott - Boys II Men (Diamond D Remix)

First off Diamond D is a fucking badass! He's a founding member of the infamous D.I.T.C. made up of guys like Fat Joe, Buckwild and of course the legend Big L. He stated out as Jazzy J's DJ and he'd got a nice little Grammy for co-producing on a album for the Fugees. The guy's made beats for some of my personal favorite artists like Busta, Bran Nubian, the Pharcyde and KRS-One. This track in particular has that old Wu feel to it, and has a nice down tempo flow compared to the original which he also produced.

Carry On feat. Joey Bada$$ & Freddie Gibbs - Statik Selektah

I can't enough of Piñata an amazing collaboration between Freddy Gibbs and Madlib, and to find out that Gibbs then turns around to crank out a track with Joey B and one my favorite producers is even better! Living in Boston for 8 years and being into hip hop meant that you should know who Statik Selektah is. I was fortunate to meet him once after a show at the Middle East and even more excited when I found out that he helped produce a track called "The Return" for some old friends of mine on their rap duo project called RADIx. Here's the video they produced with Court Dunn:Make sure you jump on our Silent Frisco show with some advanced tix ASAP, the pier is gonna get crowded!SILENT-SANTA-MONICA-FINAL-EDITEnjoy,MR PUZL
