Track of the Day: Binaryh x Never Lost - Urania

A little over a month ago Binarhy teamed up with Never Lost to produce "Urania" for Steyoyoke Black's "Back to Black" compilation which also featured label regulars Claws SG, Nick Devon, Mallone, Arude and Blancah. This track "Urania" however was only released on vinyl and money tends to be a finite source in my world, it is hard to get all of the vinyls that I would like to get. Alas the music gods have shined upon me with the labels recent compilation "Black Reserve 2017". A collection of some of the finest techno that was produced last year for one of the finest techno labels on the planet. We are big fans of Binaryh here and this is some of the first exposure to Never Lost that I have come across. Binaryh have had several releases with the Black imprint going back to September of 2016 with "Primary/ Identity" which we featured here back then. Never Lost has had one other previous release that I am aware of with Steyoyoke Black earlier this year "Minor". The two groups collaboration on "Urania" give us a wonderful piece that takes us to another musical dimension. A locomotive groove is characterized by a punchy kick along with your typical snare and ride. A warbled bass line that sounds a little like someone beating on a big PVC pipe bounces along as a warm moog style synth modulates and drones along underneath it all. Rounding things out for the track is a plucky lead that pops in every now and then, the crunchy perc that comes in every couple of bars and the heavenly work on all of the pads and ambient noises. Another journey to outer space and back has been safely completed thanks to this amazing production from Binaryh and Never Lost. More music from every one down below. Enjoy.
