Track of the Day: Bedouin – Sight
This morning Bedouin released a new EP on Lee Burridge and Matthew Dekay’s infamous imprint All Day I Dream. ‘Sight EP’ marks Bedouin’s second appearance on the label having provided the entrancing ‘Flight of Birds’ for the 2015 Summer Sampler. ‘Sight’, the new EP’s title track, combines a moving vocal piece from Eric Voltz with the signature deep string based playa beats from Bedouin into a beautiful little package. I always love how Bedouin incorporate a wide range of strings into their tracks. ‘Sight’ features a beautiful sustained violin chord that sets a somber mood as well as a subtle, hollower plucking in the background that complement each other perfectly. As the track fades out it is easy to get lost in those rolling loops. Very cool!
Bedouin is a Brooklyn-based DJ and production duo comprised of Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe. Malki and Abousabe have made quite a name for themselves over the last few years. Drawing much of their inspiration from a combination of their Middle Eastern roots and Western upbringing, Malki and Abousabe have developed a captivating sound with Bedouin and many of the world’s most successful labels have taken notice. Bedouin releases have appeared on labels like City Fox, Kindisch, and Get Physical while just last year they dropped an incredible mix on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio One. This year also marks the debut season for Bedouin’s weekly party Saga at Heart on Sundays. Upcoming guests include Guy Gerber, &ME, and Damian Lazarus.
