Hello my friends! Mikey here stepping in for Josh as he is busy getting ready for tonight’s Camp Charlie Burning Man Decompression party at Purple 33. This gives me the opportunity to talk about a track that I’ve been waiting to review. Last week andhim released an EP full of remixes from ‘Rollercoaster EP’ (out now on Monaberry). My favorite remix on the EP is easily Re.You’s remix of ‘Cloys’. ‘Cloys (Re.You Remix)’ is a powerful track that features a hypnotic kick drum, middle east inspired ambient sounds, and a subtle sample of rising bubbles that is sure to slowly raise the room’s energy until it bursts. Massive track!
Marius Maier, aka Re.You, has been on a tear for the last couple of years. The first track that Maier dropped was a remix of a Kalden Bess track called ‘Je T’aime A Mort’ that he produced with Sante for Ground Factory Records. Then later in 2009 Maier fell in with Rampa and David Mayer’s Keinemusik crew. Re.You and Rampa’s 2010 track ‘Work’ is one of the most distinct tech house tracks of the decade. Since then he has signed with and dropped tracks for several major labels in techno and house music including Katermukke, Cocoon, Moon Harbour, and Mobilee. Re.You’s set at last year’s Minimal Effort party was one of the best sets of the year. His set was so good that they kept him on for an extra half hour as he led into Rodriguez Jr. Not bad for a young producer.
