Track of the Day: Rampa - Human

Today I have one for you from Rampa, one of the bosses over at Keinemusik. Rampa posted ‘Human’ up on his Soundcloud the other day with a free download so bonus points for that. ‘Human’ is a tune that is heavy on the vibes. The newly released track subtly highlights Rampa’s exotic sound through the use of refined synths, a trippy vocal track, and a pervasive drone in the background. 'Human' has a Shamanic tone to it. It almost makes me feel like I'm in an opium den just off of the bazaar in a village somewhere in the Middle East. Overall a very cool song![soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/87852932" params="color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]Rampa made a name for himself back around 2009 when he started a little record label and DJ crew with Adam Port, David Mayer, &ME, and Reznik called Keinemusik. Since then he has become known for his wide ranging tastes and eclectic sounds. While many DJs fanatically stick to the standard four on the floor rhythm, Rampa makes an effort to explore a more diverse aesthetic. With releases on labels such as Mobilee, Kompakt, Defected, and Cocoon, Rampa has accomplished just that.For further listening make sure to check out a few of Rampa’s collaborative projects. Earlier this year he produced an interesting EP called ‘Spoken For’ with &ME, Nomi Ruiz, and NR&. He also has RAR, a collaboration with Mobilee artist Re.You. Together the pair has produced remixes and a mulititude of original tracks on Keinemusik, Moon Harbour, Gigolo, and Strictly Rhythm in addition to touring as a live act.
