Track of the Day: Niko Schwind - Fake Reality (Township Rebellion)

Got sort of a new one to watch out for here today at LAMP. I actually almost used another of their releases from Parquet Records last week but couldn't find a good enough quality sample of the track to share. Township Rebellion is a trio of Germans that have caught my attention over the last couple of years with releases on Suara, Moonbootique, the previously mentioned Parquet and a few others as well. Todays track comes via the Stil Vor Talent label in the form of a remix of "Fake Reality" by Niko Schwind. Placed side by side you could easily make an argument that they are entirely different tracks. The original (which I also love) is very heavy and dark and drives away relentlessly with its booming kick and brooding pads. The only things really connecting the original to the remix are the vocal sample and a saw synth that they totally reworked and turned into the lead for the remix. They also lightened the track up considerably in terms of mood. It still remains very much on the techno side of the tracks but is bit more bouncy and is considerably less brooding. This group has really become one that I look out for and have really been enjoying their recent releases. If you haven't checked out Mercury from their recent Parquet release you need to put that in your ears pronto. Gonna post some stuff down below along with the original from Schwind so make sure you check 'em all out. Enjoy.
