Track of the Day: Lee Van Dowski - Tale of Ordinary Madness

This week I got lucky to jump back in to the rotation for the weekly mix series. I struggled back and forth with what kind of a mix I wanted to put together this time, but one track by Lee Van Dowski kept finding its way into the mix. Van Dowski is someone we have featured here in the past and will surely feature at some point in the future. Crosstown Rebels invited Lee Van Dowski back to the label with his "Tale of Ordinary Madness" EP. The title track which carries the same name is a take on the writings of Charles Bukowski a popular writer among many other things. From the onset you are thrust into the groove as booming kick and deep saw synth stabs away. The track is one big progressive build that begins to develop as a series of pads are introduced which slowly meander and mingling with one another. Next to jump into the mix is the vocal which has a soulful and at the same time menacing tone to it. It all flows together very effortlessly and is extremely elegant in its simplicity. In addition to the title track there are two more fine productions on this EP you will want to make sure you pay attention to. I have them linked below so give em a listen. Enjoy.
