Track of the Day: Extrawelt - Fear Of An Extra Planet

Surprisingly this is the first time we have spoken about Extrawelt here at LAMP. A name that has been consistently popping up on my radar for over the the past decade. Comprised of the duo Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe who have been at it for much longer than that as DJ's and with other projects that have had great success as well. My familiarity with the group is only as their most popular moniker Extrawelt. I really enjoy the unconventional way they go about their productions and while I haven't had the chance to see them perform yet I have read on more than one occasion their live sets are some of the best in the business. Our Track of the Day is "Fear Of An Extra Planet" out now on Cocoon Records. It is one of two new originals on the EP. It was really tough to choose between the two but I was ultimately drawn in by the rich thunderous kick of Extra Planet. I am also particularly fond of the bouncing synth line that takes on a sort of acid vibe but not full acid if you know what I mean. The flow throughout the track is impeccable as well, with a myriad of FX, pads and unique sounds that tie everything together perfectly. What your left with is a high energy track that will drive dance floors into a frenzy. Like I said earlier the second track on the EP "Hail the Whale" is a doozy as well.
