Track of the Day: Demarzo - Momentus
It is about time we brought you some Demarzo on this blog. I'm sure we have had some of his music in our weekly mixes but we have yet to feature this remarkable talent on our blog yet. Earlier this month he joined forces with one of our favorite labels of late Sincopat to bring this track 'Momentus' one of 3 new original tracks on the EP. Coming out of the gates hot with a sense of urgency, an aggressive beat and a plucky synth the track settles in to a nice little tech house groove pretty quickly. Carrying this groove for a little while sprinkling in a few vocal cuts, choice FX and tweaking the groove here and there to keep the arrangement interesting. About halfway through before the main breakdown Demarzo introduces a synth that he slides in and out of pitch in a most pleasurable way. It sort of meanders and winds its way through the break as it builds bringing the main groove back full circle. All crafted perfectly get us back to dancing again to drive the track home.Demarzo is one of those guys that has incredible output. Not only that he is one of those guys that when you see his name attached to a track you know its going to be good. Writing about today's track got me going back to look at all the Demarzo tracks I have and it is somewhere around 30 originals and remixes for an assortment of labels from today's Sincopat to Hot Creations, Definition, Definitive, Material and much more. I know I don't even have all of his stuff either but I'm working on getting it. Records are expensive man! Features on Radio 1, Guest Mixtapes and an extremely healthy gig schedule keep him on his toes as well. Based in London this talented producer has been surrounded with music since childhood and has carried it with him through his studies and on to a professional career that continues to grow with each new release. I don't imagine we will stop hearing great tunes from him anytime soon so if your not on the Demarzo train and your into quality house music it is time to jump on board.
