Templeton - Better Represent

Templeton delivers a 90s inspired original infused with perc organs and hollow bass lines blended effortlessly with shuffling hi hats and claps that set the stage for an array of powerful vocal cuts. 'Better Represent' is an energetic house track with driving percussion combinations and deep synth layers primed for any dancefloor. We got a sneak peak at this track a few weeks back and we're already blown away at the production quality and composition of this track. Mastered and primed for the masses this tune is an absolute club smasher. The vocals are catchy and really get their own time to shine within track. The track gives off the element of a classic house tune but the tech house style percussion ensemble really puts it into another gear. Every little detail had not been overlooked or religiously reworked from the bell synths during the drop, to the neatly crafted synth stabs and pads, even down to the subtle yet effective "yeah" vocal cuts. Paying homage to the tracks vocal source 'Better Represent' is definitely Something For the People. We're really looking forward to Friday when Templeton takes center stage as the headliner for our LAMP 2 Year Anniversary at V lounge. To get you fired up for what he has in store for his set take a listen to his latest Guest Mix he did to close out our 2014.

LAMP Weekly Mix #51 featuring Templeton

San Francisco native Templeton is relentlessly evolving and crafting his sounds. He currently lives in Los Angeles, influenced by what the ecclectic city has to offer him while carefully fine-tuning his skills as a producer, accomplished musician and DJ. His style draws inspiration ranging from the Italo Disco classics his parents played during his youth, to the catchy bass lines and minimalism of 90s House. His current love for Nu Disco and Indie Dance, matched with the influence of modern Australian and UK artists, infuses a distinct mood into his tracks. It’s immediately clear that Templeton is not a new face to production, with a keen sense for detail and professional polish on everything he releases. The last few years have seen Templeton establish a core fan base and a steady growth in his production quality and knowledge. In 2013, he capped off his releases with a debut single ‘Search’ that landed a spot on Spainish tastemakers Y Este Finde Qué’s ‘Summer Compilation 2013’. The following year saw the young producer making waves with widely received remixes of Banks, Goldroom, Just Friends, Boys Get Hurt, and most notably Blondfire’s Walking With Giants, which received over 50k plays on Soundcloud and hit top 10 on the Hype Machine charts. He ended the year with a massive remix of The Soundmen’s summertime jam ‘Bermuda’ which also found its way on the Hype Machine charts. 2015 marks a breakout year for this budding producer with the much anticipated release of a brand new original, ‘Better Represent’, along with a host of remixes and collaborations to come.On top of his success in the studio Templeton has also spent plenty of time performing at high level. His tenacity early on in life was apparent as he saw the fruits of his athletic labor take him to the professional stage playing baseball for the New York Mets organization in front of 10s of thousands of fans on a weekly basis. This invaluable experience elevated his awareness as his performances improved exponentially and prepared him for music’s biggest stages. He has toured across multiple timezones from Snap Chat’s NYE party in Los Angeles to the Dominican Republic for an exclusive event called “Grappa after Midnight” which saw the likes of Boy George and other international DJs grace its doors. He has played with some of dance music’s rising stars including CLMD, Strange Talk, Yuksek, Plastic Plates, Chrome Sparks, Reflex and much more. Venue’s like Lot 613, Bootleg Theatre, 800 Main, The Wilshire, and V Lounge have all been hosts to Templeton’s electrifying sets leaving their dancefloors wanting more. Also we're still selling a few tickets online to the LAMP 2 Year Anniversary.
