Track of the Day: Robot Love - Gut Theory

Today we have one from the Boston-based Robot Love. A couple of days ago Robot Love self-released a new album called ‘Shush Hour’. The 10-tracker gives us more of that signature eccentric minimal sound that Robot Love has made his own. While the new album includes ‘Fuzzy Logic’, a track I’ve been trying to ID since I heard it on his monaberry podcast last year, ‘Gut Theory’ was the track that stood out the most. ‘Gut Theory’ is a straight groover. Robot Love channels that old school computerized Kraftwerk sound with his own brand of seasoning. If robots made music, this is what it would sound like. Nishimura seems to style himself as something of a collector of weird and interesting sounds. I first came across Robot Love last year with his monaberry release ‘Numbers Station’. I was drawn to its quirky spirit. The claps, clicks, and rings felt like symphony of everyday sounds.
